Some set photos have emerged which reveal that at least some of Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice takes place outside of Metropolis and Gotham in Washington D.C.. Why?

Batman-News have got their hands on some photos from the set of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice which reveal that parts of the movie will take place in Washington D.C. (you can see those by clicking the link below) To put the photos into context somewhat, the site also have some details about what they describe as a "major action scene" which was shot in studio last month in Detroit. Apparently, this part of the movie will see Superman visiting the United States Capitol building in Washington D.C. to answer for his role in the destruction of Metropolis in 2013's Man of Steel. Apparently half the public blames him for all of that death as they believe that General Zod would have never invaded Earth if it wasn't for Superman being there. What most interesting about this is how a hearing will turn into a "major action scene". Whoever ends up being the movie's main villain will clearly choose now to attack, regardless of whether it's Doomsday, Metallo or even Batman. That's all speculation for now of course, so we'll have to wait and see...

From "Man of Steel" Director Zack Snyder, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill, reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent, Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince. The film also stars Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and reunites “Man of Steel” stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

The new film is currently being written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

The film is set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016, and is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment. Distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.

HA!! Looks like all that collateral damage WILL be accounted for and approached in the sequel! :D Never doubted you for a second on that, Snyder... now PLEASE fire Eisenberg, or at least show us he really is a capable Luthor.
